TH: What is your favourite restaurant?
DL: I love La Petite Maison in Mayfair for its simple Nicoise cuisine delivered with such flair.
TH: What country do you think leads the way in culinary perfection… and why?
DL: I think the UK is the best place for food right now. We have so many different influences on our cuisine and some fabulously talented chefs.
TH: What is your favourite food?
DL: I’ve always loved belly pork so it’s great to see it on so many menus these days.
TH: What’s the best editor freebie you’ve been given?
DL: Any cakes sent to the office because they make me really popular!
TH: Which journalist do you admire most?
DL: All those who risk their lives in conflict areas to bring injustices to the attention of the world.
TH: How have you seen innovation improve foodservice over the last five years, and what single product stands out most?
DL: Sous vide cooking has taken the industry by storm and produces fantastic results so it would have to be the water bath.
TH: If you could pick three chefs – one to marry, one to travel the world with, and one to interview… who would they be?
DL: Does it have to be chefs, can’t I pick Take That's Howard, Jason and Gary instead?!
TH: What are you most looking forward to in 2009?
DL: The summer. I’m fed up with being cold.
TH: Tell us something we probably wont know about you?
DL: I used to do a bit of amateur acting and once played a pagan group leader where I had to chop off a chicken’s head on stage. The chicken was already dead at the time I hasten to add…
